Futures are edging higher as we head into the week's first trading session. Dow contracts are up 0.5%, and contracts linked to the S&P 500 are up 0.4%. 

 

Change of Plans
Markets dipped last week after the Fed announced it may have to raise interest rates sooner than expected due to unexpectedly strong inflation. However, The Fed doesn't plan to increase its benchmark rate until the end of 2023, so they still have no plans to take action for quite some time. In the mean time, the central bank still plans to maintain its bond purchasing program and and other stimulus programs.
