Help picking workstations

Q:

I run my own business and I could use some help choosing laptops and computers for my team. Where should I start?

A:

If you're not a total tech geek, figuring out what to spend your money on is seriously stressful. We use Dell OptiPlex and Precision workstations at Komando HQ, which are on sale right now. Really, though, you need help finding the right models for you and your business.

Dell Technologies Advisors can guide you. They have financing options, too, and can help you get everything set up correctly.

Check out the sales here, then call 877-ASK-DELL to find technology that can help your small business.

Home security and data use

Q:

I'm thinking about getting SimpliSafe for my home but don't have unlimited internet. If I get this system, along with a few cameras, how much data will I be using up on a monthly basis before my general use? And will it slow down my computer or smart TV?

A:

SimpliSafe cameras record only when triggered. Different events have different recording times, and the data used also depends on video quality. Here's an example. Say you had a break-in that lasted 5 minutes. With the default quality (720p), that recording would typically be about 30 MB.

You'd need to have several full alarms every single day for a month to reach a gigabyte of data. Allow about 10 MB a day per camera. All the other components run on cellular that's included with the monthly monitoring bill.

Visit SimpliSafeKim.com to get 20% off, a month free when you sign up for Interactive Monitoring, free shipping and a 60-day, money-back guarantee.

Help! I fell for a scam

Q:

I'm embarrassed to say I fell for a phishing scam. It's got me thinking about web security, and I know you recommend VPNs. Which one should I go with?

A:

I've tried lots of options over the years — some good and some really bad. Honestly, most of them are as slow as molasses. You need a VPN that keeps you safe without slowing you down. ExpressVPN does just that.

It encrypts your data, keeps your online activity private and hides your location from prying eyes — all without sacrificing speed. That’s why I love it!

Get the same protection I trust and use. Visit ExpressVPN.com/Kim to get 3 months free with a 12-month subscription.
