Dear reader

Northern Ireland has reached another significant milestone as we continue our recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.

Health Minister Robin Swann announced on Tuesday afternoon that 70 per cent of adults here have now received at least one Covid-19 vaccination jab

In addition, 40 per cent of the population are now fully vaccinated, reflecting the pattern where the Province has not seen any kind of upturn in cases despite the gradual reopening since Easter.

Wednesday was the eighth day in succession that Northern Ireland has seen no further deaths of patients who had tested positive for Covid-19.

Another 66 people tested positive for Covid-19 here in the last 24 hours, while there are 28 people with the virus being treated in our hospitals.
