It will be nice to see the sunshine today, but dress warmly with unseasonably low temperatures and gusty winds adding a chill to the air. High temperatures will be a good 15 degrees below average with highs struggling to reach 50 degrees in some neighborhoods. With the wind, dress for wind chills in the 30s for much of the day.

Plan for a very cold night ahead with some neighborhoods falling below freezing.  A Freeze Warning is in effect from 2 a.m. until 9 a.m. for Calvert and St. Mary's counties.  The growing season hasn't started across the rest of the viewing area, so additional freeze alerts are not expected.

After a very cold start, with wake-up temperatures in the 20s and 30s, plan for a sun filled day with highs in the mid 50s. While it will remain cooler than average, it will likely feel better than Tuesday with lighter winds and slightly higher temperatures.
