Our average first 90 degree day is May 16th , so we are well past normal. Hazy skies are expected again today; however, the haze will come more from ground-level ozone, which has the D.C. Metro area under a Code Orange Air Quality Alert. This means it may be harder to breathe for those with asthma, heart or other lung issues, kids, and the elderly. These individuals should limit strenuous activity outdoors. TONIGHT: Mostly Cloudy Lows: 69-74 Winds: Southwest 5 mph It will be a dry, but warm and humid night with added clouds. Low temperatures will stay above 70 degrees in most neighborhoods. FRIDAY: Partly Cloudy PM T-Storm Chance Highs: 85-89 Winds: Southeast 5-10 mph It will remain hot to round out the week, but it will also be more humid. Our next weather maker will approach bringing the chance for rain and storms during the afternoon and evening hours, so keep the umbrella at the ready. SATURDAY: Partly Sunny PM Scattered Showers, Storms Highs: 77-84 Winds: Southwest to Northeast 5-10 mph Unsettled weather is in store for the upcoming weekend, so keep the umbrella at the ready. It won't be as hot, but it will be exceptionally humid. Scattered showers and storms will develop through the afternoon and evening hours. Heavy rain could lead to isolated flooding. The Weather Prediction Center has the DMV under the 'Marginal' risk for flash flooding. SUNDAY, FATHER'S DAY: Mostly Cloudy Scattered Showers, Storms Highs: 73-78 Winds: Southeast 5-10 mph Another very humid day is in store with scattered showers and storms possible at any point throughout the day. Even lower temperatures are expected, but the humidity will remain sky-high, so it may feel even more sticky Sunday.
