The day will start off overcast, damp and drizzly with skies brightening during the afternoon. High temperatures will reach the low 80s, but it will feel hotter with the humidity. Keep the umbrella on hand with morning drizzle and the chance of afternoon and evening showers and storms. The Storm Prediction Center has the DMV in the Level 1 out of 5 risk for storms that could contain damaging wind gusts and hail. Pockets of heavy rain could also lead to isolated flooding. TONIGHT: Showers, Storms Ending Patchy Fog Lows: 70-75 Winds: Light Warm and humid conditions are expected overnight. Showers and storms will end, but it will remain damp with areas of patchy fog developing. WEDNESDAY: Hot and Humid Chance Isolated PM T'Storms Highs: 88-92 Heat Index: 90-95 Winds: Southwest 5-10 mph A summery feel is in store midweek with highs around 90 degrees. With the high humidity, plan for feels-like temperatures to be in the low to mid 90s for much of the afternoon. There is a risk of afternoon and evening thunderstorms. The Storm Prediction Center has the D.C. Metro area in the Level 1 out of 5 risk category again for storms that could contain damaging wind gusts and isolated flooding. THURSDAY: STORM ALERT Partly Sunny, Hot, Humid, PM Storms Highs: 89-94 Head Index: 92-97 Winds: Southwest 5-10 mph The heat is on high temperatures in the 90s and the heat index near 95 degrees. Some severe weather is possible with afternoon thunderstorms as a cold front moves through the region.
