Plan for a cloudier and more humid day with likely rain and storm chances. Humidity levels will be the highest all week with dew point temperatures in the low 70s. With such high humidity, flooding is possible, which is why our team is under a FLOOD ALERT. The Weather Prediction Center has most of the DMV in the "slight" risk category for excessive rainfall, which may cause rapid onset flooding. It won't rain all day. In fact, some of you won't get any rain until late this afternoon or this evening. Some slow-moving rain cells have the potential to produce one to two inches or even more of rainfall, so be aware of changing weather. With the clouds today, highs will top out around 80 degrees. It will be a warm and humid start to the day with a slight drop in humidity during the afternoon, especially in our western suburbs. Scattered showers and storms are possible through tomorrow afternoon, as a cold front slides through. Thursday evening is trending dry, as humidity levels continue to drop.
