WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5, 2024 TODAY: FLOOD ALERT Mostly Cloudy Rain, Storms Highs: 78-83 Winds: Southeast 5-10 mph Plan for a cloudier and more humid day with likely rain and storm chances. Humidity levels will be the highest all week with dew point temperatures in the low 70s. With such high humidity, flooding is possible, which is why our team is under a FLOOD ALERT. The Weather Prediction Center has most of the DMV in the "slight" risk category for excessive rainfall, which may cause rapid onset flooding. It won't rain all day. In fact, some of you won't get any rain until late this afternoon or this evening. Some slow-moving rain cells have the potential to produce one to two inches or even more of rainfall, so be aware of changing weather. With the clouds today, highs will top out around 80 degrees. TONIGHT: Lingering Showers and Storms Lows: 69-75 Winds: Southwest 5-10 mph Any lingering showers or storms will rapidly draw to a close. It will be cloudy, warm, and very humid overnight with patchy fog possible by dawn.
THURSDAY: Morning Clouds, Afternoon Sun Scattered Showers, Storms Highs: 84-88 Winds: SW to NW 5-10 mph It will be a warm and humid start to the day with a slight drop in humidity during the afternoon, especially in our western suburbs. Scattered showers and storms are possible through tomorrow afternoon, as a cold front slides through. Thursday evening is trending dry, as humidity levels continue to drop. FRIDAY: Mostly Sunny Highs: 80-85 Winds: West 5-10 mph We'll round out the week with really nice weather! Plan for sunshine, low humidity, and seasonably warm highs in the 80s. UPCOMING WEEKEND: The second weekend of June is looking comfortable. Humidity levels will be low with afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
