Rain Develops for the Second Half of the Day

As a tropical system moves into the Carolinas, rain will extend its reach northward.  The latest guidance suggests the bulk of the rain holds off until after lunchtime.  Expect a steady rain across most of the DC area by evening.. Temperatures stay below average in the 70s.

WEDNESDAY:
Rain Continues
Highs: 73-79
Winds: East 15-25 mph
Rain continues across the area, which may be heavy at times. Rainfall totals anywhere from 1 to 2 inches across the DC metro, with higher totals likely south and west toward I-64.

THURSDAY:
Mostly Cloudy with Showers
Highs: 73-78
Winds: Northeast 5-10 mph
The remnants of the tropical system should have drastically weakened by this time, but showers remain in the forecast. However, the rain will be more scattered in nature with plenty of dry time.
