Expect skies to become sunny with low humidity and comfortable highs around 80 degrees. Labor Day became an official national holiday in 1894. President Grover Cleveland signed a law passed by Congress, which declared the first Monday in September as a holiday dedicated to workers. TONIGHT: Mainly Clear Lows: 49-59 Winds: Northeast 5 mph Plan for a clear and cool night ahead with wake-up temperatures in the 50s. A few neighborhoods in our far western suburbs could dip into the upper 40s. TUESDAY: Sunny Skies Highs: 73-78 Winds: Northeast 5 mph You may want a light jacket out the door with wake-up temperatures in the 50s. There may even be a few upper 40s in the Shenandoah Valley, Blue Ridge, and in West Virginia. After a chilly start, expect a pleasant afternoon with highs, 5-10 degrees below average, in the mid to upper70s. This more fall-like feel will continue through the end of the week.
WEDNESDAY: Partly Cloudy Highs: 74-77 Winds: East 5 mph Wednesday morning will be the coolest morning this week with a few upper 40s possible in upper Montgomery and Frederick counties, as well as in Prince William, western Fairfax, and Loudoun counties. Under a mix of sun and clouds, temperatures will rise into the mid 70s, which is still below average for this time of year.
