WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2024 TODAY: Overcast Showers, Rumbles of Thunder Highs: 71-76 Winds: Southeast 5-10 mph Day 4 of our grey and dreary weather pattern. Humidity levels will increase through the day with afternoon highs warmer than yesterday. Keep the rain gear on hand with scattered showers at any point throughout the day. A few rumbles of thunder are possible, too. TONIGHT: Areas of Rain Lows: 68-71 Winds: Southeast 5-10 mph It will be mild and very humid overnight with rain chances continuing. A few rumbles of thunder will be possible, but no severe weather is expected. THURSDAY: Cloudy Highs: Around 80 Winds: Southeast 5-10 mph Thursday will be the warmest day of the week with more seasonable highs in the upper 70s. It will remain very humid, but rain chances will be fairly low. While an isolated shower is possible, the majority of the day will be overcast and dry. FRIDAY: Rain Likely Highs: Mid-70s Winds: East 5-15 mph Rain from Helene will arrive at the end of the week. The storm, which will likely be a tropical depression by Friday, will move over the Tennessee River Valley and will pinwheel moisture from south to north in our direction. Pockets of moderate rain are possible isolated flooding possible. It will remain overcast with high humidity and a breezy easterly wind. THIS WEEKEND: The final weekend of September will be less than ideal. The cloudy and humid weather pattern will continue with rain chances both weekend days. It won't be a washout, but you'll want to keep the rain gear handy. There is a sign of a pattern change by midweek next week that will usher in some bright, dry, and cool autumn air.
