Best accounting software?

Q:

Is there ANYTHING I can use besides QuickBooks for my financials? The more I use QB, the more disgusted I become! HELP!

A:

Sounds like you're drowning in spreadsheets. Don’t let QuickBooks slow you down, and stop paying for multiple systems that don’t give you the information you need when you need it. It’s time to upgrade to NetSuite by Oracle, the world’s No. 1 cloud business system.

NetSuite gives you visibility and control over your financials, HR, inventory, e-commerce and more — all in one place — instantaneously.

Want to check it out? Let NetSuite show you how they’ll benefit your business with a free product tour at NetSuite.com/Kim.

Backing up five computers

Q:

I have a nonprofit Christian ministry. I have five computers: three Macs and two Windows. What is a good backup service? I’ve had the same company for several years and they keep getting more expensive and more expensive every year and I don’t always get everything backed up. Do you know of a company that backs up computers but doesn’t cost a lot of money?

A:

Most people are just backing up their phone and computer, but you certainly need more space than that. My pick is my sponsor, IDrive. You can sync as many devices you want to one account, which makes backing up and finding anything you need super easy.

The best part is it's a steal. Get 5 TB of storage a year for just a few bucks. I bet that's a heck of a lot cheaper than what you're paying now.

Get your exclusive discount at IDrive.com and use promo code Kim at checkout.

Home security and data use

Q:

I am thinking about getting SimpliSafe for my home but do not have unlimited internet. If I get this system, along with a few cameras, how much data will I be using up on a monthly basis before my general use? And will it slow down my computer or smart television?

A:

SimpliSafe cameras record only when triggered. Different events have different recording times, and the data used also depends on video quality. Here's an example. Say you had a break-in that lasted 5 minutes. With the default quality (720p), that recording would typically be about 30 MB.

You'd need to have several full alarms every single day for a month to reach a gigabyte of data. Allow about 10 MB a day per camera. All the other components run on cellular that's included with the monthly monitoring bill.

Visit SimpliSafeKim.com to get 20% off, a month free when you sign up for Interactive Monitoring, free shipping and a 60-day, money-back guarantee.

Streaming tip: Get your money's worth with ExpressVPN

You know what’s not fair? Netflix hides thousands of shows and movies from you based on your location and then has the nerve to increase prices yet again. Make sure you’re getting your full money’s worth by using ExpressVPN.

What’s on Netflix in the U.S. is completely different from what someone in the U.K. or Japan has on theirs. ExpressVPN has over 90 countries to choose from, so every time you run out of stuff to watch, just switch to another country to unlock new shows.

Stop paying full-price for streaming services and only getting access to a fraction of their content.
