Tim Walz Is a Vinyl Guy. Here’s His Record Player of Choice.

We don’t often get political around here, so we will refrain from openly commenting on Kamala Harris’ selection of Minnesota governor Tim Walz as her running mate — except, of course, to call attention to this Twitter thread. The photos, originally posted to Facebook way back in 2020, show Walz setting up a stereo system and bonding with his now-23-year-old daughter Hope over Bob Seger’s much-underrated 1980 album Against the Wind.

His stereo setup is modest but functional, featuring a Denon receiver, some big, vintage-looking floorstanding speakers and, the centerpiece, an Audio Technica LP60.

Yesterday, we asked if you'd rather drink a beer with too much foam or not enough foam. About 40% of you would rather have too much and 60% of you would prefer less.

A Definitive Guide to Surviving Budget Airlines

Times can be tough, and sometimes the only way you can make it to a particular destination is to fly a budget airline. Here's one way to avoid paying more and to have the best experience possible:

Tip #1: Beware the add-ons

Budget airlines’ base ticket price is low, but they make their money charging for amenities we take for granted on other airlines. If the airline could get away with it, they’d find a way to assign everyone middle seats unless they paid extra. If you were to add each possible additional item up, you’re actually paying substantially more than a flight on a major carrier. Avoid paying inflated airport prices by doing this.
