INDUSTRY NEWS CHICAGO: Chicago's colorful restaurant Carnivale will celebrate Halloween on Oct. 29 with a Monster Mash Brunch from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Diners should plan to dress to impress in their most creative Halloween costume for their reservation, and Carnivale will "treat" the adults to a free mimosa or handspun cotton candy for the little ones. To celebrate Dia de Los Muertos on Nov. 1, the Latin hot spot will have performances to enjoy in the main dining room along with over-the-top photo opportunities in the newly renovated Rumba Lounge. LAS VEGAS: This week, Bellagio and Cirque du Soleil were honored by the Clark County Commission for 25 years of an "unparalleled legacy of hospitality and entertainment in Las Vegas." Clark County Commissioner James Gibson was joined by Bellagio President and COO Ann Hoff and Eric Grilly, Cirque du Soleil’s president of the resident and affiliate shows division, for the occasion. At the conclusion of the event, the Clark County Commission proclaimed Oct. 15 to be the official Bellagio Resort & Casino Day. LOS ANGELES: The annual West Coast edition of New York City's influential On Air Fest takes place Nov. 1-2 at KCRW's Annenberg Performance Studio. Recently announced headliners include Jason Derulo and Alexandra Shipp, who will join each other onstage for the first time following the premiere of Underwater, their new romantic thriller podcast, on Oct. 31. SAN ANTONIO: Elizabeth Fauerso, a longtime Pearl and Potluck Hospitality executive, announced her new development and experiential design practice, EBF Development and Design Studio. After 11 years with Pearl and more than 25 years in the industry, Fauerso is stepping out on her own to work with a diverse range of clients and projects in San Antonio and beyond. ST. LOUIS: Hospitality company Butler’s Pantry announced Nick Pace as vice president of service and Brian Kempf as vice president of culinary. Pace joins Butler’s Pantry with 30 years of experience in the hospitality and management industries. His previous roles range from restaurant management, leading operations teams, to driving sales.
