💰️ You Shouldn’t Buy Certain Items in Bulk According to Kiplinger |
Unless you’re new to the Clark Howard universe, you know how much he – and we – love warehouse clubs like Costco. |
Clark’s favorite store is a go-to for bargains on almost everything imaginable. And, yes, you can buy in bulk there, at Sam’s Club and at BJ’s. |
However, buying in bulk isn’t always smart, as Kiplinger points out in a recent article titled “22 Products You’ll Waste Money Buying at Warehouse Clubs.” |
Kiplinger isn’t slamming warehouse clubs. It often espouses their strong suits. It just thinks there are certain items you may want to skip. |
“First, buying in bulk is a waste of money if you won’t use the product before it spoils or expires. Next, quality isn’t always up to snuff at warehouse clubs. And lastly, you’re [almost always] missing out on the money-saving power of weekly sales and coupons.” |
Some of the items the article lists include razors, books, toothpaste, liquid cleaning products, diapers and name-brand cereal. |
The article does a good job of giving a logical explanation on each item. It’s not a 10 Commandments style list of don’ts. Rather, it’s a good thought provoker to review before the next time you go shopping. |
