Jazz Festin': If office attendance is a bit, uh, sparse today, you might blame Jazz Fest. The annual music/food/people watching party kicked off today and runs through this weekend and next. Some things you might be interested in: - Keith Spera has his “who to see” list for the first weekend.
- Our food guy Ian McNulty offers a Top 12 dishes to chow down. And . . . a sleeper list. Bon appétit!
- And Doug MacCash checked out the festival’s “sobriety tent.”
A new Saint: What do you think about the Saints’ first-round pick last night? Here’s a few more things to know about Bryan Bresee, the newest Saint. (Remember: The NFL draft continues tonight, and our Saints coverage team has lots more, including a “best available” list of possible Saints picks later tonight.)
Your electric bill: The head of Entergy said this week that customers should expect to see monthly residential bills remain relatively flat for a while. Whew! But, he cautioned, there are some caveats.
The bone speaks: Yesterday we told you that experts think a skull fragment found near Lake Pontchartrain belonged to a woman who died 3,500 years ago. Our Faimon Roberts did a little more, uh, digging and tells us now that the experts ran some tests and even think they know what she ate. Crazy, right?
