'The big gap': As city leaders aim to house hundreds of people living on the streets, they're confronted by a major obstacle: New Orleans' sparse, siloed collection of mental health treatment options that fail to adequately prepare the highest-need people to transition into housing. Building collapse: Several blocks in the CBD will be closed to vehicle traffic for at least two weeks after an O'Keefe Avenue building erected in the 1800s partially collapsed over the weekend. Marie Fazio has details from the scene.
Sanitation saga: IV Waste will take over sanitation services in the French Quarter and Downtown Development District after weeks of uncertainty over who would collect garbage, clean the streets and pick up litter in the city’s busiest areas.
