Have you ever seen a pigeon nest? My colleague Sarah Gambles recently wrote about the bird's simple, and sometimes strange, nest-building habits. We might even be able to learn something about gratitude from them.
She also recommends checking out Bad Pigeon Nests on Twitter if you want to see some wild pigeon nests.
Is there a connection between fatherlessness and school shootings? Here’s what a BYU expert says
After the mass shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, Sen. Mike Lee speculated that “fatherlessness” and family breakdown may drive young men to kill.
Kevin Shafer, a professor of sociology at Brigham Young University, however, believes that “unless fatherlessness has a unique effect in the United States that it doesn’t have elsewhere,” it doesn’t drive gun violence.
Additionally, the United States is roughly in the middle of rich countries for nonmarital births, Shafer said, but its gun violence rate is much higher than in any other rich country.
Shafer hopes the government will earmark money to study what perpetuates shootings.

The state’s longest holders of fishing licenses were invited to have dinner with Gov. Spencer Cox and first lady Abby Cox, and tell their fish stories.
In 1984, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources started selling lifetime fishing and hunting license. The six men all bought their lifetime licenses the first day they went on sale.
Thirty-eight years later, these six are still around to boast about it.
During the dinner at the Governor’s Mansion, they went around the table to tell their best fish stories.
The Governor also shared what he loves about fishing: "It’s so noisy today, we always have to be stimulated in some way. Fishing is the polar opposite; sitting on the bank, waiting for … something. I think we need more of that, more of nothing.”
