Temple Work Week

Dear  John,

After many years of planning and development, we are moving forward to build the Temple of Light at Ananda Village. It will truly be a temple of world brotherhood for Ananda. 

The entryway and parking are in, and we have the site graded, leveled, and prepared to begin this spring. We plan on having the foundation in, much of the framing done, and be ready for the iconic blue tile roof by Spiritual Renewal Week (SRW), August 5–12, 2018.

On May 16, 2018, we will have a ceremony to install sacred objects in the foundation, under the location of the altar. This ceremony will be performed by Ananda leaders and community members from around the world. 

We would like to invite all who are able, to come join us for an Ananda Temple Work Week prior to SRW. In the spirit that built all of Ananda, let us enjoy a week of service, followed by a week of renewal.

Temple of Light at Ananda Village

Together we are building a Temple of Light, a beacon of blessings for all the world. This iconic temple will be a physical representation of the future of Ananda and the mission of Paramhansa Yogananda, the great spiritual master on whose revolutionary teachings of Self-realization Ananda is founded. 
This temple will be:
  • A spiritual power center that will uplift human consciousness
  • A symbol of spiritual unity 
  • The fulfillment of Paramhansa Yogananda’s vision for Worldbrotherhood Communities
  • A celebration of Ananda’s 50th Anniversary in 2019
  • An example of Paramhansa Yogananda’s inspiration to “immortalize your ideals in architecture”
  • A beacon of blessings for the world

Building Permit Submitted

On January 31, 2018, Panduranga (the architect) submitted complete building plans to the county for the Temple of Light at Ananda Village.

“It could not have been a smoother process – thanks for all the prayers and light. Full steam ahead!” he announced.

After nearly fifty years of hoping, praying, and visualizing this temple and more than two years of active planning, we stand at the brink of building this sacred temple for all the world.
