The ninth annual Philly Tech Week Presented by Comcast NBCUniversal returns to celebrate and inspire the local tech community, to challenge ideas and current assumptions and to introduce people to their future through 100 uniquely themed and curated events, creative workshops and smartly organized parties from Friday, May 3, through Saturday, May 11, 2019.

Notable speakers at the anchor conferences of the week include those from Philadelphia and beyond, including representatives of global tech powerhouses like Google and Amazon and self-made innovators like U.S. Patent Hall of Famer Garrett Brown (steadicam) and Tucker Roberts, President of the Overwatch League’s Philadelphia Fusion esports team.

Originally established as a way to associate the name "Kensington" with the positive artist and maker community, the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union Kensington Derby & Arts Festival has grown into a Philadelphia-wide attraction. Neighbors and new friends alike come out to experience the parade of sculptures and shop with artists and food vendors along Trenton Avenue, a wide cobblestone street that has been part of Kensington’s rich creative history for over a hundred years.

Philly Tech Week is produced in partnership with title sponsor Comcast NBCUniversal, which is headquartered in Philadelphia and recently expanded its vertical campus in Center City  with the Comcast Technology Center. This is home to the company’s growing Philadelphia workforce of more than 4,000 technologists, engineers, and software architects, as well as the operations of local broadcast television stations NBC10 and Telemundo 62 and its resource and event center for local technology startups at LIFT Labs.
