BY DOUG GRAHAM | Staff writer Diamond dream: Seven-year-old Jesse Corcoran of Slaughter, who is facing surgery to correct a heart defect, asked the Make-A-Wish foundation for his very own baseball diamond. After months of construction by local designers and contractors, the field was unveiled on a rainy Thursday afternoon. Fish story: An increase in the population of two types of sharks commonly found off Louisiana's coast, as well as complaints from anglers, could lead to the elimination of recreational catch limits for those species by the state's Wildlife and Fisheries Commission.
