Should I tell my daughter and her husband how to better parent their children?
To be a parent is a very important, attention-consuming role, and thus it is natural to become identified with it. However, Eckhart states, this role is one that we must let go of as our children grow into adulthood.

I find it difficult and draining to be present while teaching others.
Kim notes that it’s natural to feel drained of the vitality we accumulate in stillness while giving our whole attention to others. At the same time, she encourages teachers to “get out of their own way” and share knowledge from a place of service rather than any egoic desires.

Does my desire to live and remain free of my cancer symptoms arise from my ego?
Eckhart advises that a major health diagnosis—especially one that puts the future in doubt—can be a powerful gateway to practicing Presence. If one is not resistant to the idea of disease and death, then one can embrace living a longer and fuller life beyond one’s diagnosis.
