He shared his experience with the House Revenue and Taxation Committee Tuesday in consideration of HB101, a bill that would repeal the state food tax. The only hitch is Utah voters must agree to lift an earmark on income tax revenue. 

‘Loony right’: Mitt Romney calls Marjorie Taylor Greene’s call for national divorce ‘insanity’

“You know, I think Abraham Lincoln dealt with that kind of insanity,” said Utah Sen. Mitt Romney to a group of reporters at the Utah State Capitol Tuesday. In reference to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s recent call for a “national divorce,” he denounced the comments and stated, “We’re not going to divide the country. It’s united we stand, divided we fall.”

He then went on to criticize both Republicans and Democrats for the state of political discourse saying, “Look, there’s no question, but there are some people in my party and in the other party that say things to try to get a headline and get people to send them money, and that happens to lead in today’s loony left,” before adding, “I should say loony right.”
