You, a Saints fan: *Googling whether it is possible for bitter rivals to become the best of friends* Google, a search engine: Here is a story about former Atlanta Falcon running back Devonta Freeman wearing Saints colors and saying "Who Dat." No, we have not entered an alternate universe! That was the real Devonta Freeman wearing a real Saints uniform at the fourth day of Saints training camp. Like Kevin Garnett once shouted at the top of his lungs, anything is possible. Now the Saints are hoping its possible for Freeman, a two-time Pro Bowler, to rediscover the form he last displayed way back in 2017. And he's not the only one who is looking to revive his career in the Big Easy. Joining him as new faces on the Saints roster Monday were an offensive lineman who's started in a pair of Super Bowls and two cornerbacks — one of whom is a former first-round pick. But maybe you're not so interested in the new faces as you are the ones who are vying to be The Face (of The Franchise). Well, good news, we're keeping up with our daily tally of what Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill are doing as they duke it out for the Saints starting quarterback job. And better news: If Monday was any indication, New Orleans will be airing the ball out this season. Folks, we love the deep ball, don't we? Kidding aside, four practices is not remotely enough time to make such an important judgment call (and the Saints' decision will likely be based on a thousand other factors beside such and such made a really nice throw in practice!) BUT: It is clear both Winston and Hill entered camp in the right space physically and mentally to compete for this job. The Saints only stand to benefit from that. Anyway, hope you have your reading glasses on, as we have a ton more stuff on the site (and in your front lawn, dear subscriber), so much stuff that by the time you're done reading it, we'll probably have more stuff ready for you to read. We're grinders. I hear what you're saying because I might also be saying it: "Wow, what is it, Week 4 already?" But friends, we are just getting started on this long journey. The Saints’ first preseason game is still a few weeks away, and we'll have you covered between now and then, and then we'll keep going through wherever this Saints season takes us.
