COVID-19 Older Persons Support Line

Do you know an older Australian who may not have proper access to the internet or the confidence to be able to find COVID-19 information online?

A free COVID-19 Support Line is now available for senior Australians, their families and carers, to provide the critical information they need to stay healthy and safe during the pandemic. The support line can be accessed 8.30am - 6pm Monday to Friday on 1800 171 866 and can be used for personal support, questions and up-to-date guidelines.

ABC Radio has also launched a new national segment, Getting On with Angela Catterns, a COVID-19 special feature for seniors with no digital connection to get up to date information and learn more about the issues impacting older Australians. Getting On is broadcast on Sundays at 5.30pm on ABC Radio Adelaide and across all Local Radio channels.

Street cricket season over as SA tourist trade starts to see signs of life

Tourism operators across South Australia are gearing up for a late start to the 2020 season now that regional travel restrictions have been lifted.
The State Government placed restrictions on Adelaide locals travelling to regional and remote areas, but has begun encouraging people to holiday in their own state.

Up to 375 gigalitres of southern Murray-Darling Basin water could be 'unused'

The Murray-Darling Basin Authority's top cop believes there could be approximately 375 billion litres of "unused" water in the southern Murray-Darling Basin. Appearing before a Senate committee, Interim Inspector General for the Murray-Darling Basin Mick Keelty said a report on the water was being prepared for the Water Minister Keith Pitt.

The recent rain has brought out the snails and slugs in the garden. AFL home and away format in doubt as South Australia joins WA in ruling out FIFO plans

Adelaide and Port Adelaide could be forced to relocate interstate for the resumption of the AFL season, with SA Health ruling out a relaxation of COVID-19 rules for the clubs. It follows a similar decision made last week when the WA Government rejected a home and away AFL season, saying the state's borders "would not and should not" be compromised to accommodate the league.
