Dear John, At this very moment, we are facing the greatest threat of the 21st century… but most people are completely unaware of it. Even an open-minded person like you might be tempted to laugh when I tell you what it is, because it seems so outrageous. But bear with me for a few minutes, and I promise to show you a nightmare scenario that you couldn’t have imagined in your wildest dreams. The threat I’m talking about — what experts call the “Gray Tsunami” — is the flipping of the demographic pyramid, and it threatens the very survival of civilization as we know it. Let me give you some eye-opening facts you probably didn’t know… Paul Ehrlich and the Myth of Overpopulation For nearly five decades, the specter of global overpopulation has been haunting politicians and environmentalists alike. But the truth is, overpopulation is a myth that was born in the late 1960s and has been perpetuated to this day — even though all the facts point to a population decline. Don’t believe me? Here’s how it all came about… The second half of the 1960s was a boom time for nightmarish visions of what lay ahead for humankind. Movies like Soylent Green with Charlton Heston reinforced the idea of a dystopian future where people would have to scramble for ever-dwindling resources. In 1968, Stanford biologist Paul Ehrlich wrote a book titled, The Population Bomb, which fit right in the mold. It predicted the imminent breakdown of the world’s ability to feed itself due to overpopulation. And it sold millions of copies. And even though the book’s dire predictions didn’t come true, and it is now a known fact that the long-term trend actually goes in the opposite direction… …most people still believe in the threat of overpopulation hanging over our heads like a sword. So let me tell you what the picture really looks like… Birth Rates Are So Low That Entire Nations Could Go Extinct For most developed countries, the replacement rate that is, the birth rate at which a population can stay at the same level — is 2.1 births per woman. That rate grows to 2.3–3.4 in third-world countries where mortality is higher. In most of the world, fertility rates have dropped well below the replacement rate in recent decades: Nations with the lowest birth rates, like Germany (1.38), Portugal (1.28), and Japan (1.41), could face extinction within the next 100 years. In Singapore, which currently runs at a dismal birth rate of 1.2, the native newborn population will decline by almost half in a single generation. The list of countries with birth rates below the 2.1 replacement level includes Austria, Canada, Italy, Korea, Poland, Russia, Spain, and Switzerland. In the United States, the birth rate is close to the replacement level, but it’s trending down. Granted, total populations in India, China, and parts of Africa are still expanding — and will continue to do so for a few decades — but the overall, long-term trend is down. Even the United Nations, which at one time promoted birth control to save the planet, has accepted that population growth is coming to an end. A 2010 UN report predicted that world population would max out at 10 billion. And researchers at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) have calculated that… With a global birth rate of 1.5, the Earth’s population will drop to just one billion people by 2300. That’s one-eighth of the current population. So the world population is shrinking. Isn’t that good news? Not really. Because programs like Medicare and Social Security are based on the idea that there will always be enough young workers to financially support the older people… The “Gray Tsunami” Will Bankrupt Social Security and Medicare At the same time, older people are living much longer than they used to. The Social Security system was founded in 1935. At that time, the average life expectancy was 58 for men and 62 for women — and the retirement age was 65. Social Security was a way to make the last few years of your life more comfortable. But as people started living longer and longer, a social program that was originally meant to bridge a few short years had to stretch farther and farther. And since Social Security is a pay-as-you-go system, the lack of young workers to provide for the elderly is an added burden. If nothing changes, Social Security and Medicare could be bankrupt within a few decades… and the government will run up many more trillions of dollars in healthcare debt. The Only Solution: Increase Lives and Health Spans Obviously, we can’t force women have more babies. The “Gray Tsunami” is an unstoppable tidal wave that is threatening to swallow up most of the developed world — and the only way to stave off its impact lies in the minds of brilliant scientists. The solution is to find ways to increase lifespans and health spans (that is, the healthy, active part of a person’s life). If you could live a healthy and disease-free life till, say, the age of 100, you would not only have a chance to accumulate a bigger nest egg, but also be a productive member of society for longer. This would solve many of the problems that now seem insurmountable. Good news: science is already much farther ahead on this project than you may think… Get My Special Report Now — It’s Completely Free for Golden Opportunities Readers I suggest you read my special report, The Supplements That Could Turn Back the Clock by a Decade. In it, I discuss four supplements fresh from the lab that you should know about. These nutritional supplements that you can get on Amazon or maybe even at your health food store can not only slow down aging and add more healthy years to your life… some of them have even shown to reverse aging in mice. These are scientific findings that have come from years of research, so no snake oil here. Don’t worry, I also don’t sell those supplements — I just recommend them to people who want to live longer and healthier lives. Click here to download and read the special report now. Sorry for Not Introducing Myself I apologize for getting carried away. My name is Patrick Cox. I'm the editor of a Mauldin Economics’ Transformational Technology Alert. I’ve researched and written about technology my entire life. But in the last 10 years (probably due to my increasing age), I’ve been focusing more and more on anti-aging and life extension science. I’ve read just about every peer-reviewed scientific article and research paper there is on the topic. And I feel blessed that my studies have put me in touch with world-renowned scientists (including some Nobel Prize winners). Many of them are now my friends. I write about groundbreaking therapies developed in biotech labs in the US and abroad. These therapies will dramatically transform the world as we know it. Some are so secret and revolutionary that I was only allowed to know about them after signing a non-disclosure agreement. But one thing is certain, those innovative approaches to staving off age-related disease are not just greater and stranger than you think… they’re greater and stranger than you can even imagine. And they could literally save the world — and your life. So I recommend you read my special report, The Supplements That Could Turn Back the Clock by a Decade. Don’t waste another minute.
