No urban rivalry quite compares to that of New York's and LA's - we've been arguing about the true "best coast" for generations. But there's no denying the fact that the two cities are in the midst of a major cultural exchange. After all, Los Angeles has bagels now, and New York has legal marijuana. And though it may sound blasphemous to some, the New York Times wasn't completely off base when it asked "Is New York Turning Into Los Angeles?" this month, even going so far as to coin a new Manhattan neighborhood LiLA. Yes, short for "Little Los Angeles." Shiver-inducing as it seems, the mini-scene spanning Manhattan's Noho and Soho areas might not be so bad - and it definitely didn't crop up overnight.
