Let go: A prep baseball story is getting a lot of attention today. The baseball coach at Lakeshore High School on the north shore was fired Monday, just a couple days after guiding the team to the state championship game, Joseph Halm reports.
Sports $$$: Jefferson Parish is looking to tap into the money folks are willing to shell out for youth sports. The parish is building a sports complex on the West Bank – to the tune of $20 million – and hopes to capture some of the sports tourism biz, Drew Broach reports.
Growing footprint: Tulane University is asking the city about leasing sections of four streets adjacent to the school, Stephanie Riegel reports, which has nearby residents carefully watching for what might happen to the streets.
