A GUIDE TO THE AUDITOR GENERAL’S ANNUAL NAUGHTY LIST

It’s that time of year again when the auditor general of Ontario makes a list, checks it a couple of bazillion times and issues their findings on the government’s annual naughty-to-nice ratio. This marks the first year in the role for Shelley Spence, a former government and public service partner at Deloitte, who took over as the province’s top watchdog in January. Earlier this month, she issued her annual report: nine “value for money” audits covering government spending and procedural best practices on topics including the Ontario Place redevelopment and the province’s advertising budget—and let’s just say the tidings of comfort and joy are minimal. “I QUIT SCREENS COLD TURKEY”

Christie Wong, a 31-year-old social media consultant, was glued to her phone day and night because of her job. In the summer of 2022, she was burnt out and decided to sign up for a digital detox at Camp Reset in Bancroft. She spent four days entirely unplugged: “For the first time in years, I wasn’t thinking about my to-do list.”

REAL WEDDINGS

Fatima Zaidi and Jonathan Rasool met through a mutual friend in 2017. By 2020, Jonathan had moved in with Fatima, and in May of 2023 they got engaged. After a Barbados elopement that November, the couple hosted a 50-person destination wedding in Morocco with fire performances and belly dancers in a private villa.
