Good afternoon,

If there is a phrase that sums up the week in Edinburgh and the Lothians for me it is the cheeky headline which we used on one of our best-read stories of the week: Stars and Starkers.

It referred to Joe Biden being confronted by a 'flasher' on the drive between where he was staying to the COP26 summit in Glasgow.

The phrase also covers one of my favourite events of the week, David Tennant being spotted filming a new series of hit show Good Omens in Inverleith Park.

In fact, there is so much filming going on that the industry has made a plea for 2,000 extras to take part in recordings. If any of you are braver than me and decide to try your chance, I'd love to hear how you get on.

On a more serious note, I hope you all have a peaceful night tonight, despite the usual concerns about what disruption Bonfire Night might bring

If you are looking for some inspiration for the weekend, check out our recommendations for the most "secret" bars in Edinburgh.

Whatever you are doing tonight, I hope you have a safe and enjoyable night, and a relaxing weekend.

Halloween may be over, but our spooky deal isn't
