Hello reader, and welcome to my monthly newsletter, which you will receive as you made the decision to register with the Lancashire Post website.
It's been an interesting month to say the least - one in which we saw some lockdown restrictions introduced to the city of Preston.
That has been difficult for those who are following the rules, but as some of you have been telling me, not everyone is sticking rigidly to the guidelines set out by the local public health officials and government.
The problem with that is that we will have to live for the virus for even longer.
Unless we can get to the position where it has nowhere to go - ie it cannot transmit to another person - it will still be in the community.
And that means we will have to continue with social distancing, working from home, wearing face coverings - and all the rest of the restrictions which are currently being placed on our lives.
So let's stick together and have one big push to get rid of Covid-19, so we can get our lives and the economy back on track.
We have been reflecting much of that in our articles this month, from explaining the rules to making clear the areas of Preston which recorded the most coronavirus cases in the first weeks of lockdown.
But life has still been going on in the city too. We reported that plans to return one of Preston's best-known landmarks to its former glory had started.
And we like to make sure you also have something to divert your attention from the pandemic. The housing market has seen a huge upturn in the past few months and we can all dream about moving to an amazing new pad, can't we? For lovers of the Lake District, this might be just the ticket....
And as we celebrated with A level and GCSE students during a very different results year, our photographer Neil Cross took us back in time to look at some of the results days from the past. Can you recognise yourself here?
You can access all of these stories and many more each day when you subscribe to the Lancashire Post.
It's critical that we all support each other at a time like this. By paying to access our content, you can help us to sustain valuable local journalism now and into the future.
Please send me your feedback about this newsletter - or anything else you want to discuss - to gillian.parkinson@jpimedia.co.uk.
I wish you and your loved ones all the best over the coming weeks.
Until next time, take care and stay safe.
