It took years for the Justice Department to put together the case it brought against JPMorgan Chase for market manipulation in metals trading. Authorities worked with a former JPMorgan trader to establish that the bank's trading desk constituted a racketeering operation that could be prosecuted under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

First-time jobless benefits claims hit around 837,000 last week and significant layoff announcements this week span various industries, including Disney, Allstate, United Airlines and American Airlines. MKM Partners' Michael Darda says the layoff "numbers sound terrible, but they're not enormous in the context of the size of the total US labor market."

About 25% of women feel less confident about retiring comfortably because of the pandemic, compared with approximately 20% of men, according to a Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies survey. The findings also show just 17% of women are very confident about a comfortable retirement, compared with 30% of men.

Citi's incoming CEO, Jane Fraser, attributes her success, in part, to the phase in her life when she worked part time so she could be with her children. "I honestly don't think I would be here today if I hadn't," Fraser says.

Danny Trejo's early life included addiction, armed robberies and time in prison, but he's spent more than 50 years sober and giving back, starting with a counseling job that led to his first film role in 1984. "You can put him up onto a big screen, and you know it's just going to be something special," says director Robert Rodriguez, who first worked with Trejo in "Desperado" and created "Machete" to showcase him.
