It took years for the Justice Department to put together the case it brought against JPMorgan Chase for market manipulation in metals trading. First-time jobless benefits claims hit around 837,000 last week and significant layoff announcements this week span various industries, including Disney, Allstate, United Airlines and American Airlines. MKM Partners' Michael Darda says the layoff "numbers sound terrible, but they're not enormous in the context of the size of the total US labor market."
About 25% of women feel less confident about retiring comfortably because of the pandemic, compared with approximately 20% of men, according to a Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies survey. The findings also show just 17% of women are very confident about a comfortable retirement, compared with 30% of men.
