| The Top 25% of Leaders, Legislators Account for the Bulk of Tweets, Engagement | |
| | The person who occupies the White House certainly has a prominent Twitter presence. But what about the rest of the world? The Pew Research Center dug into politicians' accounts in five countries and found that most tweets come from a small number of politicians. In other words, those who have Twitter accounts are really using the medium. In fact, 25% of all legislators most active on the platform make up 65% of tweets. Given the prominence Twitter, and other platforms, had in the 2016 presidential election, an additional spotlight has been thrust on how those platforms and this year's presidential contenders are using them. Snapchat, for example, has gone to great lengths to posture itself as a platform to reach young voters. So far, Joe Biden has jumped at the opportunity. In other news, Hulu's interface is starting to look at lot more like Disney's, Pinterest rolled out a new shopping feature and Hinge's new research lab will provide insights into its user base.
