Republicans passed a set of rules that will govern the Senate impeachment trial The opening arguments should begin later today. On Tuesday, Senators spent the day — and all night, and some of the next morning — debating the rules of the trial, which was about as exciting as you’d expect.
In short: Democrats kept pushing for some of the things they wanted — like the ability to summon witnesses — and kept getting voted down by the Republican majority.

CORONAVIRUS IS GOING GLOBAL The deadly Coronavirus outbreak that began in China has made it to the United States
The virus was detected in a patient in Everett, Washington, the CDC confirmed. The virus has already infected hundreds of people in China, with 9 deaths.
Scientists around the world are rushing to figure out how serious this could become. "It doesn’t take much for a virus in general to go from being worrisome to being extremely worrisome, because they tend to morph and mutate a lot," a CDC official said on Friday.
Airports in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles are already screening passengers from Wuhan, China, where the outbreak began.
