A town struggles: Downriver from New Orleans, Pointe a la Hache is in a fight for its survival. Reporter Mike Smith and photographer Sophia Germer spent some time in the small Plaquemines Parish community, talking with residents about their fears of being on the front lines of land loss and sea level rise.
Bank collapse: Another person has been sentenced to prison for their role in the spectacular, and expensive, collapse of First NBC Bank in New Orleans, Tony McAuley reports. The sentencing was the 9th in the sprawling case.
