| In February 2008, James Deshautelle was starting a new relationship with Laura. A few weeks into their dating, James found out his T-cell lymphoma had returned. |
| "I tried to break it off with her, thinking no woman in her right mind would ever want to date a cancer patient. I was wrong," says James. |
| Laura stood by his side and visited him at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center during his treatments. "She treated me as if I wasn't sick. With her, it sometimes felt like I didn't even have cancer," shares James. |
| During that time he underwent chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, and he knew he was with the right woman — and the right cancer center. |
| "Any woman who can endure the hard times when her boyfriend is fighting cancer is definitely a keeper," says James. "I proposed in February 2009, and we married in July of that year. |

| We're happy to report that James has been cancer-free since he finished his treatments in 2008. And he and Laura have a wonderful life together that includes two beautiful children. |
