The Mac mini may finally have some real competition |
And the good news is that its power button is in a sensible place
|
Geekom could be on the verge of launching a Mac mini rival, according to a leaked image (above) out of China. The machine appears to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, so it’d be the first-ever X Elite-powered mini PC to hit the market, Digital Trends reported. The computer looks remarkably similar to Apple’s M4 Mac mini — except for the power button, which is very sensibly located on the front of the PC. The leaked image also reveals a headphone jack and what appears to be two USB-A ports, along with some kind of card reader on the side of the machine, but we’re unable to see what's on the back ... |

I wore these smartwatches together, and the results surprised me
|
In the name of research, Nirave Gondhia took to the streets wearing two smartwatches on the same wrist |
Curious about how the Apple Watch Series 10 and the Pixel Watch 3 compare in a real-world scenario, Digital Trends’ Nirave Gondhia took both smartwatches on a mile-long walk. Nirave ended up finding a number of oddities in the data reported by both watches. The Apple Watch Series 10, for example, said he’d walked a shorter distance than he actually had, pointing a lack of sensitivity, while the Pixel Watch 3 exaggerated his distance, suggesting the device overcompensated for small movements. Check out the full article for all the analysis, including how the watches’ health apps handle and present incoming data ... |

Aura 2 projector review: 'Repeatedly impressive' |
It not only works great, but it ‘feels like a premium piece of home decor,’ too
|
XGIMI unveiled its Aura 2 projector in September and it’s available now for $2,700. After trying it out, Home Theater Review praised the ultra short throw projector for the impressive way that it “balances performance, design, and practicality.” It also noted that although brighter projectors are available, the Aura 2 excels “in areas that matter most for real-world use — especially color accuracy and everyday use with Android TV and quality sound.” The review describes the projector’s viewing experience as “outstanding,” awarding the Aura 2 a maximum five stars ... |

Moana 2 will win the weekend box office again, but how about the new movies?
|
There are a couple of comedies that could be worth a watch |
Moana 2 stormed the box office on its North American debut last weekend, and it’s all set to win it this weekend, too. Wicked and Gladiator II, both on their third weekend, are expected to place second and third, respectively. So, what new movies might be worth your time? One is Nightbitch, a dark comic film that explores themes of identity, motherhood, and personal fulfillment. It follows a stay-at-home mom (Amy Adams) who, overwhelmed by the challenges of motherhood, begins to believe she's transforming into a dog. There’s also Y2K, a disaster-comedy about two socially awkward high-school friends who crash a New Year's Eve party in 1999, and face chaos as technology turns against humanity at midnight ... |
