Justin Long, Once the Face of Mac, Is Now a PC Guy in Intel's New Ad Campaign

Just a few months ago, John Hodgman—also known as the “I’m a PC” guy from the classic “Get a Mac” ads—reappeared in an ad for Apple’s new MacBook models. Now, Justin Long, who starred as the “Mac” of the classic campaign, has returned—but now he’s turned to the PC side in an Intel ad. He’s not exactly embodying a PC, aiming for more real-talk than metaphor, but the ad definitely flips the script on Apple. See Justin Long turn to the PC side.

More of today’s most creative campaigns:

  • Hip-hop artists and cannapreneurs Wiz Khalifa and Problem dropped a new music video for "4 the Low" that is also a clever ad for minority-owned cannabis brands. Catch it here, and pay attention to the ticker.
  • Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter (as themselves, rather than Bill and Ted) take a journey from Santa Barbara to the Porsche Experience Center in L.A.—all on a single battery charge—in an eight-minute film about the electric Porsche Taycan. Take an excellent ride.
  • In the Zoom era, men in the workplace suffer fewer interruptions than women because the parenting workload has remained unequal. Belgian agency Mortierbrigade puts a light-hearted spin on this serious fact in an ad for women’s rights movement group Zij-Kant. Watch now.

Did an Xbox Ad Just Reveal the Identity of One of Marvel's Most Sinister Villains?

One Marvel enthusiast recently created a TikTok dissecting a moment from a recent ad for Xbox—which seems to reveal the identity of an infamous troll from the film Avengers: Endgame. In the film, the rocky character Korg is plagued by a mysterious player by the username of Noobmaster69 in an online multiplayer battle. Watch to see the identity of this person revealed. (The actor also appears in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.)

Ask How I'm Doing as an Asian American Woman, Not Where I'm From

On a more serious note, the U.S. has been shaken by news of a shooting in Atlanta that left several women of Asian descent dead, and it’s only the latest in a series of attacks against people from Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. In a powerful Voice piece that follows and builds on a recent one from Facebook's Eric Toda, Annie Katrina Lee of Twitch addresses the ongoing violence and hate against these communities and what allies can do to act against it. Read it here.

Antitrust Suit Takes New Aim at Google’s Cookieless Future

An updated, Texas-led antitrust lawsuit says that a cookieless future will only make Google’s chokehold over the advertising landscape more severe, allowing the tech giant to fortify its Chrome fortress, walling off the portion of the internet that consumers access through the browser.
