Good Morning John I was all ready to hit send on my regular email newsletter. Something told me to stop and share this message with you instead. Recent events have been tough for many of us to handle. I admit it; some days I struggle. Kathy's email really helped me gain perspective. She isn't saying that these events aren't horrible. Her message is for us to make a choice. *** The choice is yours by Kathy Scheiern It makes me sad to see all the anger and hate and greed and unnecessary death in the world. Which is why it is so wonderful to also see people helping others, to see gratitude expressed for the sacrifices of others, and to be witness to and enjoy the wonderful creativity that is being shared from around the planet. As Charles Dickens once wrote, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times" - which is often quoted. But that sentence carries on "... it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us..." Such comparisons are with us always, but have been magnified by the events of these past few months. Which time / age / epoch / season is it for you? The answer is - whichever one you choose - as all of these comparisons rest of a foundation of personal perception. So how do you choose to see the world? Does your choice uplift you, give you joy? Or does it make you fearful and anxious? If you don't like the choice you have made, make a different one. You are the one in control of how you perceive the world. The choice is yours. May all your choices bring you comfort and sustain you during challenging times. Much love, Kathy *** I hope you found Kathy's message helpful.
