A message from the Editor

Whether you’re a long-time reader of the Church Law & Tax Advantage Member e-newsletter (thanks for your faithful support!) or a newcomer (thanks for joining us—we’re thrilled you’re here!), you hopefully notice a section below titled “Also this week.”

I handpick items for this section every week, mainly to ensure I showcase other topics and issues that may grab your attention (especially if my main topic selection doesn’t quite do so).

A couple of weeks ago, one of my choices linked to a Q&A about unrelated business income generated by sales generated through a church’s welcome center. Soon after the e-newsletter went out, we discovered it listed the wrong author—it said CPA Mike Batts, but it should have said attorney and CPA Frank Sommerville.

Why am I sharing this? Two reasons.

First, we like getting things right, and when we don’t, we want to make sure we set the record straight. We apologize to you all, and to Mike and Frank, for the confusion caused by this error.

And second, it gives me an opportunity to share an important update: Church Law & Tax is upgrading from one content management platform to another. The idea is to continue providing you with excellent content both now and well into the future. But, from time to time, we encounter unexpected formatting changes such as those encountered with this specific Q&A.

Please bear with us as we work through these changes! And if you see something that looks incorrect or out of the ordinary—whether here through this e-newsletter or on ChurchLawAndTax.com—please contact me: editor@churchlawandtax.com.

The Lord bless you and keep you,
