49% of Utahns support using tax dollars for private education options, a new poll conducted for the Deseret News and Hinckley Institute of Politics shows.

The poll also shows

• 45% of Utahns oppose
• 6% don’t know

The results suggest there is more support than opposition but not a clear mandate for the policy change adopted by state lawmakers with the passage of HB215.

What Gov. Spencer Cox says about Californians moving to Utah

During Utah Gov. Spencer Cox’s trip to Washington, he spoke with reporters outside of the White House about the “population movement.”

What he said: “Our biggest problems are more growth-related. We would love for people to stay in California instead of coming as refugees to Utah.”

Jazz’s Will Hardy on experiencing the trade deadline as a head coach for the first time

Jazz coach Will Hardy talked about the many emotions that came with the trade deadline, saying, “I’m glad it’s over.”

• The end of Mike Conley’s tenure as a Jazzman: “This transition in the first year of being a head coach, it’s a lot and there’s a lot of moving parts and Mike was so steady every single day — his demeanor, his approach, his mood.”
