Square one for WWOZ: Community radio station WWOZ, which will be forced to leave its leased studios by August, thought it found a new home on St. Charles Avenue. But now the executive board of the Jazz & Heritage Foundation, which holds the station's license, has decided to reject the purchase, in part because some members feel the foundation should be investing in Treme or Armstrong Park. End of an era: Grace King High School in Metairie, which has graduated a handful of famous alumni, is being closed, it's students split between Bonnabel Magnet Academy High School in Kenner and Riverdale High in Old Jefferson, while students of Haynes Academy will fill its halls this August.
