Where's your special summer spot? For me, it's Montauk. I've been beyond lucky to spend every summer of my life here toes in sand, rod in hand, hanging out with my couins. Certainly I miss the days of fewer people and fewer restaurants and far less traffic. But I suppose the sting of change, the heavy wave of commercialization, that's come about in recent times wouldn't be half as hard to bear if the masses actually used this place the way it's meant to be.

If you're not wearing a bathing suit all day, you're doing it wrong. If the sun's out and you're not at the beach or on the water, you're doing it wrong. If you're stressing out over where to go to dinner or spending time strategizing about how to get into some overcrowded, overhyped nightlife spot, you're doing it wrong.

It's as simple as that really. See you at Gin Beach?
