Temps slowly bounce back from sub-freezing cold. Tuesday will be another cold day after the weekend snowstorm. Highs tomorrow will be in the 30s across Minnesota. Temps will slowly ramp up for the rest of this week. We’ll get our springy weather back by the weekend, when highs will reach around the 60s in the Twin Cities.


COVID-19 in Minnesota today: Critical testing shortage persists due to “broken system across the country,” Walz says. During his briefing today, the governor said Minnesota needs 40,000 testing kits a week, while the total number of tests conducted in the state so far is still under 39,000. No new deaths were reported Monday, and health officials have confirmed 1,650 cases.

Got some grocery deliveries and wondering if you should wipe the items? It may not be necessary, experts say. If you’re shopping on-site, make sure to sanitize the handles of your cart or basket and avoid touching your face. If you get your groceries delivered, you may want to wash them if you’re going to use them in 72 hours, but don’t use wipes, experts suggest. Many MN immigrant families find distance learning challenging. Many immigrant and refugee families across the state are still navigating distance learning. Some have limited English proficiency, no formal education or internet access, and even lack the understanding of how to work on a computer. 

“(The community) is facing a hard time to not know what to do. They never had education back home in Somalia, and now they are here not getting that equal opportunity,” says Mohamed Nor Qeys, an immigrant from Somalia with two sons.

Bernie Sanders now endorses Joe Biden for president. The Vermont senator, who suspended his own presidential campaign last week, said on his live stream video joined by Joe Biden: "Today I'm asking all Americans ... to come together in this campaign to support your candidacy, which I endorse.”

Ex-NFL quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, 36, dies in car crash
Former NFL quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has died in a one-car crash outside Montgomery, authorities said Monday. He was 36. Jackson was hired as quarterbacks coach for Tennessee State last season after a 10-year NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills.
