“I ate the soil for three years due to my hunger”
Costaziya endured profound suffering.
After her husband left her, she faced years of extreme poverty alone, to the point where she had to eat soil to survive. The rain leaked through her roof, a constant reminder of her vulnerability and isolation.
“Even though I prayed to God, the hunger would bring me back to unbelief.”
Costaziya's life changed forever through a local Christian church supported by ICM, that was built in her Rwandan community of Bugumira.
Through the compassion of the local pastor, Michael, the church members, and ICM, Costaziya received a new home and the support system she desperately needed.
This wasn't just about providing a roof over her head or food on her table; it was about restoring her dignity, offering her a community, and giving her hope for the future.
“I would have been forgotten about. I would have died.
But God’s people remembered me.”
