A BOOST for the Inner Harbor

Happy Thursday, Baltimore. Here's an opportunity that some of you or your networks might find useful — one that could maybe result in some prime real estate.

The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore and MCB Real Estate recently announced the launch of applications for the Downtown BOOST Harborplace Local Tenancy Program. This initiative is designed to empower seven small, BIPOC-owned businesses by offering them grants ranging from $20,000 to $25,000 to establish short-term retail locations in Harborplace. In addition to the financial support, selected businesses will benefit from a comprehensive package of wraparound services, including access to an educational cohort model, marketing and public relations assistance and support for tenant build-out. See the floorplan for the spaces here.

Here are some key dates and details for BIPOC-owned businesses:

Sept. 12: BOOST Harborplace Incubator Application Opens
Sept. 18, 1-2 p.m.: Information/FAQ session hosted via Zoom
Sept. 27, 9-11 a.m.: Open House for business owners interested in touring available retail spaces
Oct. 6: Application Deadline
First week of Nov. 2023: Winners notified
