Hello,

You may have seen in the San Francisco Chronicle today that KQED is embarking on a major renovation project of our headquarters at 2601 Mariposa Street. As you're a KQED fan, I wanted to reach out with a few more details about this exciting project.

Mockup of KQED building renovations

Over the past five years, KQED has undergone a dramatic transformation in order to meet our community's needs. We have expanded our coverage: creating a weekend news team, increasing arts journalism and producing new, educational video series for the youngest members of our audience, just to name a few. This growth has improved our service to you, but changes in staff and technology mean that our current building is now outdated.

Designed by the award-winning architectural team at EHDD, our renovated headquarters will strengthen our connection to the community and provide staff with the resources they need to continue providing you with the high-quality, trustworthy journalism you rely on.

The renovation is part of Campaign 21, our ongoing campaign to fund innovation and build capacity at KQED. You can learn more about the building features that will foster collaboration and invite community interaction in the San Francisco Chronicle article and our press release. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us .

Thank you again for your support, and for helping us become the cutting edge media organization that we are today.

Sincerely,

John Boland
President and CEO KQED
