Bow down to a new queen on Netflix's The Crown. The streaming service has released a first-look image of Imelda Staunton portraying the queen in the forthcoming season - and we're royally excited! The 65-year-old follows in the footsteps of Olivia Colman and Claire Foy to play the monarch. Total goosebumps moment!

There's a new queen in Netflix's The Crown.
 

Imelda Staunton takes over the role of Queen Elizabeth from Olivia Colman in the award-winning period drama.
 

The streaming service has shared the first image of the 65-year-old in character on Twitter with the caption: "An early glimpse of our new Queen Elizabeth II, Imelda Staunton."
 

The penultimate season will reportedly follow the royal family in the early 1990s.
