A NOTE FROM COACH
Hello, 67s fans!
I hope youre looking forward to the home opener as much as we are. We started the season with a couple of shootout wins on the road showing we still have that #NoQuit spirit. If it seems like the off-season was short, youre right. It was. We are proud of our last year achievement, we won the OHL East and came within 2 victories of the League title in the playoffs, which means, as a franchise, we had the shortest off-season since 2005 when the 67s last made it to the Memorial Cup. We love a short off season. We are working hard to offer you that kind of off season year after year.
The start of a new season is always an exciting time. As coaches, we get a chance to see the progression of returning veterans as they take-on more responsibility and leadership. Our defense is almost intact from last year, bolstered by newcomers Jack Matier, Teddy Sawyer and Anthony Costantini. Up front, rookies Jack Beck, Yanick Crete and Thomas Johnston join a returning corps that includes Austin Keating, Marco Rossi and Graeme Clarke, all of whom, I think, are headed for big seasons. Our over-agers are Noel Hoefenmayer, Keating and Hudson The Sheriff Wilson, and between the pipes is Cedrick Andree, who was 34-5-2-2 as a starter last year, with Will Cranley who showed great promise in in his 9 starts. Its a strong team.
This will be my third season with the 67s and Id like to thank you for your tremendous support. This is a great place to coach and great city in which to live. I promise you, the coaching staff and our veteran players will do all we can to showcase that same #NoQuit attitude that carried us to a 50 win regular season and a 14 game unbeaten streak in the playoffs. We have high expectations for our team this year and so should you. I think youre going to have a lot of fun with us and we will have a lot with you as well.
Lets Go 67s!
