Good morning and thanks for joining us. Here are some of today's top headlines.
Council spat: The Jefferson Parish Council met Wednesday, two days after at-large Council Member Jennifer Van Vrancken called her fellow elected officials corrupt on social media. There were some words. A lot of them. Blake Paterson wrote them down.
Radio war: An attorney's criticism of a prominent Black-owned radio station for its interview with indicted former NOPD officer Jeffrey Vappie has prompted a full-throated rebuke from the station, which called the comments racist. James Finn has the story.
Justice delayed: It's been three years since Baton Rouge nursing home owner Bob Dean sent 843 elderly residents to suffer through inhuman conditions at a warehouse after Hurricane Ida. So why have so few of them been paid the settlements they are owed. John Simerman has the details.
