10 Off-the-Beaten-Path Spots and Hidden Gems in Paris

With the 2024 Summer Olympic Games kicking off this week, Paris seems to be on the tip of everyone’s tongue and an integral part of so many summer travel plans. While France’s capital is used to the limelight, the projected tourism numbers promise to surge well above regular summer crowds and smash records left and right (err, gauche and droite in French). Anyone visiting in the coming months should expect to contend with the masses. But that doesn’t mean spending your entire holiday in a queue.

Planning a trip to Paris this summer? Whether you’re interested in going beyond the well-trodden, first-timer route (sorry, Eiffel Tower and Louvre) or just prefer to explore spots not overrun with the hordes of holiday goers, these insider-approved alternatives to big-name attractions and hidden gems reflect a different, less touristy side of the City of Light.

Last week, we asked if you consider yourself a gamer. Here's what you said:

  • 20% of you voted that you have a console you fire up now and again.
  • 30% of you said you always have, always will.
  • 50% of you voted for "Does the crossword count?"

Daniel Dae Kim on the Wellness Routine That Keeps Him Young

Known for roles in Lost, Hellboy and Avatar: The Last Airbender, Korean-born American actor Daniel Dae Kim has always had his physicality front and center in his performances.

We caught up with Kim to talk about his lifelong love of paddle sports, keeping fit as he gets older, and how what he does after a workout is just as important as the exercise itself.

Your Summer Salads Are Begging for Blueberries

If you’re not familiar with panzanella, it’s a Tuscan salad that’s typically made with stale bread and tomatoes. Drying out bread was a way for people to make their loaves last without the use of modern-day preservatives. While this recipe doesn’t call for tomatoes, it does employ the help of both blueberries and eggplant for a different but just as seasonally appropriate version. It also calls for Capriole Julianna Goat Cheese for a creamy tang, but if you can’t find that specific brand, your favorite goat cheese will do.
